Stuffed Chicken Roll
Nothing fancy here, just good old fashioned chicken. If you're in the mood for chicken, stuffing, potatoes and gravy, this is relatively an easy recipe to make.
Laziness is the key ingredient. Using a boxed stuffing mix, ready made gravy and even instant potatoes, you'll be ready to eat in no time. The taste from the grill gives this chicken such a flavor boost that no one besides you and I will know your shortcut secret.
Of course, you could take it to the next level with your own gravy and stuffing recipes.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
- 1 box of instant stuffing mix
- 1 jar ready made chicken gravy
- salt and pepper to taste
Prepare Your Chicken Breasts
Using a meat mallet, flatten each chicken breast to 1/4-inch thickness. A rolling pin may also be used.
Stuff It
Prepare the stuffing per the instructions on the package. Complete cooking is not necessary since the time on the grill will finish it off. You just want to get the stuffing moist, yet not allow it to get too hot to handle.
Top the chicken breasts with about a 1/4-inch layer of stuffing.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Simply roll. Once done, secure the roll with a couple of toothpicks or small metal skewers.
Tip:Prepare your chicken rolls up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate until it's time to grill.
Let's Grill!
Prepare a medium heat fire for direct grilling. Cover and cook rolls for 15 to 20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes. The rolls are done when the juice runs clear or a meat thermometer reads 165-degrees F.
Sprinkle with a little more pepper and slice. Serve with gravy and your choice of side dishes.
