Who doesn't love a good hot dog? Whether on a bun, used as an appetizer or mixed into a dish, the hot dog is a versatile creature. In addition, there is an unlimited variation to how they are prepared, depending upon the part of the world you are in.

Of course I'd love to cover each and every part of the world's hot dog variations, it would almost be impossible. Here you'll find many and I'll keep adding to the collection over time, so stop back. Slaw Dog

The Carolinas

Also called Carolina dogs. They're served with chili, cole slaw, mustard and onions. A sweet mayonnaise cole slaw is common, but many parts of North Carolina use a vinegar based slaw. Similar to a West Virginia dog.

Coney Dog

Michigan

Here they top off the dog with beanless chili, diced onion and yellow mustard. The two styles are Flint style which uses a dry chili, while Detroit style is a more thinner and wet chili.

L.A. Street Dog

Los Angeles, California

So named because most of these hot dogs are sold by primarily by street vendors. It's a bacon wrapped dog topped with grilled onions, jalapeno peppers or grilled green peppers and salsa.
